The shade is a perfect coral pink (or brown pink nude?) and is quite wearable literally for every single event you’d wanna wear a lip color for: work, college, bold eyes for a night out, everywhere. I’ve been wearing it EVERY DAY for most of the last few months.
Here’s what the stuff looks like:
I mini-reviewed these on the blog’s instagram, and these were my initial thoughts:
👉The J. Lipstick costs about PKR 650 while the Medora is close to about a PKR 100-150.
👉The Medora one has a buildable color tone and isnt as buttery/balmy as the J., tho its a steal for the price.
👉The colors are verrry similar and perfect to do nude makeup looks with.
👉The J. Lipstick (SunPetal) has made it to my list of MUST-MUST-MUST-HAVES and I kinda think I’m never ever getting sick of this shade. Buying a ton more when the bullet finishes. Verdict: ITS A YES, FOR LIFE.
👉I’m not too happy with the packaging of the J. lippie. All texts and marks disappeared within a week of use; didnt expect this to happen this soon. Tho, no regrets there.
So let’s get down to some detail.
The formula on SUNPETAL (Note Cosmetics/J. Cosmetics) is absolutely buttery and I love how one swipe gives sufficient color to the lips, without feeling patchy or highlighting creases on the lips.
About the packaging, I think the lipstick gives away a pretty high-end sorta feel. However, the text and the shade details rub off instantly (within two weeks of constant use and travel).
PRICE: The product retails at PKR 650 here in Pakistan, and is sold under a joint collab between Note Cosmetics and J. Junaid Jamshed.
HERE’S….THE BEST PART
For those of you out there who think the price tag is a bit steep for this product, I’ve found us all a DUPE (TA-DA!!) by Medora cosmetics.
The product finish, formula, quality might not be as cool as Note, but would that matter if I told you the Medora dupe costs just a PKR 150 (or even less in some parts of the country)? I….don’t think so.
Also, since the Medora bullet is a semi-matte finish, it kinda makes the color feel a wee bit different from the Note SunPetal, but that’s also forgivable given the fact that it doesn’t promise anything like a matte matte result.
Medora cosmetics’ Cameo Pink, is a muted coral pink shade with AMAZING staying power, imo. It’s a pretty cool shade to be worn as a base to darker lip shades, but looks just fine on its own as well.
The only down side to it is that the formula is a tad too over drying and doesn’t feel as comfortable. But then again, we can’t really complain so much considering the product is even lesser than 50% of the cost of the NOTE bullet. WHOA!
Have you tried any of these at all? ❤
